IMG11906M Update - Now on Line.

Over the past number of months, the technical team have updated / replaced most of the radios, computers and controlling technologies at the LSR bunker. One of the last items leading into the summer was the integration of the 6 Meter repeater into the control environment so that it could or be linked into the VHF and UHF systems, amongst other things. This part was completed with success, but we uncovered a bigger problem.

We uncovered that there is an antenna issue, it appears to be broken and as our antenna is supported on a commercial tower, we must use the services of an accredited climber. While the symptoms of the problem indicate that it could be a short or an open, we will not know until it is visually inspected. Once inspected, the antenna was full of water and it was quite brittle - it literally fell apart in Dave Veitch's hands.

Through an anonymous donor, we were able to secure a commercial two bay antenna designed by Bob Morton VE3WY. The antenna performs great with a 1.25:1 SWR.

We have heard stations from Barrie, Wasaga Beach and Washago on the repeater.

It is currently linked to VE3LSR VHF1 on 146.850 as a trial. We appreciate hearing from you!

The transmit audio we hear is quite good. Recieve audio is a little pinched or thin. We have an adjustment to make on the controller to handle flat audio.
